Testimonials:

“Laura has assisted me on several occasions while transitioning my elderly mother out of her home and ultimately into a memory care facility.  The compassion and love that Laura demonstrated, along with her natural ability to connect with my mom were invaluable during these times.  I consult her often regarding how to best deal with situations that arise and I find myself thinking “What would Laura do?” as I navigate my mother’s journey with aging and dementia.”

“We met Laura prior to our special day. She asked us a lot of great questions and talked to us about what marriage means.  After that session, we knew we were making the right decision for the right reasons.  The premarital sessions are so important.

Laura helped us create a ceremony that reflected who we are as a couple.  Her gentle spirit guided us, never telling us what to do or what was expected.

The ceremony was exactly what we wanted.  Laura made the day precious, incorporating our Celtic and Native American traditions that were important to us.  Her smile and gentle voice wrapped our day in peace and love.  We could not have asked anyone else to perform the ceremony; she was a critical part of our day.”

“Laura provided caring support for my elderly parents for almost five years. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart and a deep soul.  Also, she can sing and her doodles are works of art!  I would recommend her to any family needing help caring for a loved one.  Laura is just the best!”

“I met Laura Carey in July 2006.  Following a hospitalization for pneumonia and exacerbation of Parkinson’s, my mother, who lived with me, needed 24 hr care and assistance.  Laura was one of several people who worked for a home health agency we hired.  It quickly became evident how outstanding she is.

Compassionate, consistent, reliable, respectful, skilled and collegial.  She developed a strong and gentle connection with my mother, their senses of humor always part of the mix. Laura was a primary home care provider for six years, during which time she completed her training as a chaplain. Mom gravitated to the spiritual support Laura gave her.

When mom died in 2012, I asked Laura to officiate at the graveside service.  No one else could have provided such a thoughtful and kind service.

Hands down, Laura is a skilled professional, devoted to her work and her clients.  Singularly capable and respected.”

“Laura came into our lives at a critical time for our family.  Mom had moved into our home to spend the end of her life with my partner and myself.  We were fortunate she was able to have round-the-clock care.

It became evident very quickly that Laura and Mom had formed an incredible bond and friendship over a very short time.  They spent hours singing together and deep in conversation until the wee hours of the night.

Laura’s friendship, support and kindness never wavered over many very long days and nights in our home.  She and Mom shared stories of their lives, developing a deep and meaningful friendship and bond.  Laura’s daily presence in our home provided Mom with a true friendship; someone she could entrust with the trials and tribulations of her own life’s adventures.

Laura never missed a beat or complained about any aspect of caregiving.  She helped us around the house while at the same time always tending to Mom’s daily health needs.  She prepared and served meals, cleaned when needed, assisted Mom in every aspect of daily life, helped decorate for Christmas and became a member of our extended family and home, always with a radiant smile.

Laura and I also developed a terrific friendship and spent hours in discussion and sharing our own stories.  Laura fully understands the issues around home-care, hospice needs, bereavement and caring for the elderly while also remaining respectful of our home and privacy.

It has been many years since Laura became a friend and caregiver in our home and I will be eternally  grateful to her for all of the goodness, love and kindness she brought to our home and family during a very difficult time.”

“Laura talks about the need to prepare for death with a mix of tranquility, empathy, and palpable caring.  But what she does best is hold space for others to talk — she listens with this wide-open spirit that feels a little magical.

-Jennifer (librarian, Lovell) 2024

“Laura is a compassionate provider. Her empathetic responses to others in whatever situation she is in is testament to her loving engagement with families and friends of loved ones. Her experiences provide real life stories to individuals and families experiencing a death. With a sixth sense she listens for understanding and always seems to provide the compassionate answer people are seeking.

Laura is a public speaker and has done several presentations to audiences curious about how to even talk about death to their loved ones. She prepares people by reminding us all that it is a natural part of our lives.
