End-of-Life Services:

End of Life Counseling, Discussions and Care
Death Doula Services

Death and dying are often culturally taboo topics.  But truthfully, none of us will make it out alive.  In my opinion, discussing these topics openly is extremely valuable.

My approach is to tailor the discussion to the individual needs of my client – I find the spiritual aspect to be most compelling, but my counseling often also includes the practical and legal aspects of death and dying.

As an Interfaith Chaplain, I am comfortable providing a safe spiritual space for clients and families of all religious faiths – and for those who do not choose to practice a formal religion.  To me, spirituality is personal and individual.  I do not strive to impose my beliefs on others, but to explore how my clients’ spirituality might help guide them through the end-of-life process.

The practical component of these discussions might include the specific desires of my client regarding all aspects of the dying process (such as: a preference for music, the presence of specific people, location, etc.).  The legal aspects include the value of advance directives, medical power of attorney, and estate and funeral planning.

Although this type of counseling is most often requested when the end of life is near, I believe that having these frank discussions at every stage of life brings the inescapable reality of death and dying into the open, making them more familiar and less scary; thus enabling us to live fuller and more fulfilled lives.

These services can be provided as individual or family consultations, or as small-group presentations.
